What does someone who is actually a psychosomatic health education teacher have to do with the print media industry and the advertising world?

In short, he is not trapped by industry constraints and he is used to looking outside the box – even after well over a quarter of a century of self-employment in which beautiful papers and print production have always occupied a large place.

It all began when I founded the ‘Papierwerkstatt (paper workshop) Alfred König’ in 1982 while I was still a student, but this was less influenced by profit than by my love for paper and the written and printed word. Unfortunately, the production of cover papers and book covers by hand did not feed me in the long run.

At the same time as the birth of my daughter*, the idea of the Paper Search Service® was launched in 1988, which my team and me – adapted to the needs of the networked world – continue to see as a satisfying part of our work. Just like our production service, which we continue to develop successfully even after my time as managing director of König und Lerch OHG, which was dissolved at the end of 2010.

In the meantime, my personal attention has also focused on my consulting and lecturing activities, my work as a text designer and specialized journalist, and the constant further development of my theory of haptic communication. The last-mentioned is to be understood in the context of my psychosomatic work and combines excellently with my activities in the world of media and advertising.

All in all, these various activities form the basis of my understanding as a management consultant, and of course I will continue to be committed to the interests of the print media and paper industry.

My self-image has always been to connect seemingly separate subject worlds and to be intensively networked with others, be they paper manufacturers and paper dealers, printers and converters, creative people or end customers.

I don’t put competition in the foreground, but cooperation. And I see successful communication as the beginning and the end of everything.

In this sense, I look forward to continuing to work with you. You can keep expecting everything from me that you know me for – and much more.

* Succession is also assured, as my daughter Alina König has not only been helping me to organise my diverse interests and activities since 2012, but is also increasingly becoming a motor herself, for example being the head and heart of our website www.schwer-entflammbar.com, now supported by Eva Kormann.
